Allie Burgess

Allie is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working across a range of sectors in regional NSW. She supports adolescents and adults experiencing a wide variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and complex life stressors. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for each person’s lived experience and capacity for growth.
A central focus of Allie’s practice is trauma-informed therapy. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who have experienced single-incident or complex trauma, and understands the ways trauma can impact emotions, relationships, self-beliefs, and the nervous system. Allie prioritises creating a sense of safety, trust, and collaboration in therapy, recognising that healing occurs within a supportive and empowering therapeutic relationship.
Allie is trained in multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. She integrates these frameworks in a flexible, client-driven way, tailoring therapy to meet each person’s needs, goals, and readiness. This allows space for both skill development and deeper therapeutic work, supporting meaningful and lasting change.
Allie is known for her insightful, strengths-focused, and approachable style. She works collaboratively with clients, valuing their voice and expertise in their own lives, and aims to provide a safe environment where people feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward at their own pace.
